Former Manchester United star Paul Ince says Manchester United need a striker and two new players to fill the position left by Darren Fletcher and Nemanja Vidic.
Fletcher was ill and did not know when it can no longer play while Vidic knee injury, which makes it to rest until the end of the season.
Ince says Manchester United need a new striker to support Wayne Rooney.
"The burden is too great for Rooney and the impact we can see when he went down to England's World Cup," said Ince told the BBC on Tuesday night (13/12).
"If you want to compete with strong teams like Manchester City and Chelsea, you need players who can score at least 20 goals in one season," said Ince.
"You can not always rely on one player alone," he said.
Nani and Ashley Young had a brilliant game show, but the performance of both players are down lately.
With a situation like this, says Ince, it is difficult for United to score goals.
"Berbatov is not often revealed, Michael Owen's injury, and Danny Welbeck is still young though he is expected to be the engine of effective goals," said Ince.
Javier Hernandez, who scored 20 goals last season, injuries and so far has just turned six goals.
United's experienced players in the middle of a crisis after Paul Scholes retired. Efforts manager Alex Ferguson found a class midfield general Roy Keane has not produced results.
This issue becomes more critical when Fletcher should be absent because of a stomach and digestive disorders are quite serious.
"The contribution of Fletcher has been remarkable. He players who never seem to run out of energy. So, I was saddened to hear that he was sick," said Ince.
According to Ince, making United's lack of midfield creativity loses.
"Ferguson needs to buy players like Luka Modric and Andres Iniesta. I'm sure Ferguson will buy a player like that next month," said Ince.
