Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, subject to sanctions for eight matches and fined 40,000 pounds after being found guilty of racist acts done against Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Suarez was found guilty of committing a racist act against Evra as the match continued Premier League competition which took place at Anfield on 15 October.
Evra told French TV that he was racially abused as much as 10 times by the Uruguayan striker throughout the game, and three people from the Independent Regulatory Commission appointed by the FA to investigate the case and found that the cutting edge of the Reds were guilty.
"On November 16, 2011, the FA decided to punish the guilty because Luis Suarez as opposed to FA Rule E3 associated with the match between Liverpool FC vs Manchester United FC on October 15, 2011," said a statement from the FA as quoted by Sky Sports.
"Listening sessions conducted from 14-20 December 2011 before the Commission on Independent regulation of the FA to consider the allegations."
"Independent Regulatory Commission announced its decision on December 20, 2011, as follows: Mr. Suarez using insulting words on Mr Evra pitched during the game progresses and it was contrary to FA Rule E3."
"The words used insult that Mr. Suarez including sulking in Mr Evra skin color in terms of Rule E3. Mr. Suarez should be warned about his future, be penalized as long as eight games spanning the entire first team competitive matches and fined 40,000 pounds."
"The penalty will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal filed by Mr. Suarez against this decision."
Liverpool have 14 days to appeal this decision after they receive written reasons from the FA.
